Foundation spettacoli per i principali teatri e festival del
mondo, in un percorso artistico che alterna
in olandese con sovratitoli in italiano e inglese /
prosa (Miller, Marlowe, Molière, Ibsen, O’Neill,
in Dutch with Italian and English surtitles
Shakespeare, ma anche Tony Kushner di Angels
in America), opera lirica (Berg, Wagner,
Ciaikovskij, Mozart, Janáček), musical (il celebre
Rent), e uno speciale interesse per la versione
teatrale di capolavori del cinema (Rocco e i suoi
fratelli di Visconti, Teorema di Pasolini, tra gli
altri). La passione per Bergman lo ha portato a
dirigere già Scene da un matrimonio nel 2005 e
Sussurri e grida nel 2009, per approdare oggi al
dittico costituito da Dopo la prova e Persona che
considera “due testi sul significato del teatro e
dell’arte nelle nostre vite e nella società in cui
viviamo”.
Ivo van Hove stages for the first time a play at the
Piccolo. A director who for more then thirty years has
staged performances for the world’s most important
theatres and festivals in an artistic excursus which
alternates theatre (Miller, Marlowe, Molière, Ibsen,
O’Neill, Shakespeare, and also Tony Kushner’s Angels
in America ), with opera (Berg, Wagner, Ciaikovskij,
Mozart, Janáček), musicals (the celebrated Rent), and
above all a special interest for the theatrical versions of
cinematographic masterpieces ( Rocco and his brothers
