Nato a Roubaix, nel profondo nord della
Francia, affascinato fin dall’adolescenza
dalla danza, che scopre in televisione e nelle
vie della sua città, Brahim Bouchelaghem ha
segnato la storia della danza hip hop nel suo
paese. Bouchelaghem utilizza un linguaggio
e uno stile personalissimo, il virtuosismo
dell’hip hop allo stato puro si accompagna
ad una danza allo stesso tempo delicata e
generosa, vigorosa e ingenua, poetica e
possente. In Tracks, prima italiana, Brahim
Bouchelaghem intreccia l’hip hop con il jazz
e con la danza contemporanea
trasportandoli nel cuore degli “années
folles”, gli Anni Venti del XIX secolo.
Born in Roubaix, in the heart of Northern France,
fascinated since adolescence by the dancing he saw on
television and in the streets of his city, Brahim
Bouchelaghem has made his mark in the history of hip-
hop in France. Bouchelaghem uses a highly personal
language and style, the virtuosity of pure hip-hop joins
with a style of dance which is delicate and generous,
vigorous and innocent, poetic and powerful.
In Tracks , an Italian premiere, Brahim Bouchelaghem
weaves hip-hop and jazz with contemporary dance,
transporting them into the heart of the “golden
twenties”.
