Following the well-received edition of Beckett’s
Endgame in 2006, Franco Branciaroli takes on the role
of writer with this Dipartita Finale (Final departure ), a
piece with the same atmosphere of the absurd. It is the
story of three tramps, Pol, Pot and The Supine,
comically struggling to put their affairs in order, forced to
do so by Toto, Death in disguise. Branciaroli, who plays
Toto, is joined onstage by an exceptional cast of actors:
Gianrico Tedeschi, Ugo Pagliai and Massimo Popolizio,
listed on the playbill in order of age.
“It is a parody, a western, a drunken game on the
human condition of our times – explains Branciaroli”.
The surprise ending is three-quarters happy.
